Handmade with heart.

Terms of

Service

The agreement between you, the mercato and the makers trading in it.

Who you are buying from

Artisan's Mercato hosts independent makers. When you buy a piece, the maker named on the listing makes, packs and ships it. The mercato handles the order, the payment and the support around it.

Listings and accuracy

Measurements, materials, capacities and prices come from the maker's own product sheet and we publish them as given. Where the sheet does not state something, the listing leaves it blank rather than filling it in.

Photographs show the actual piece or a piece from the same run. For work marked as handmade, small variation between the photograph and the object is expected and is not a defect.

Prices and availability

Prices are set by the maker and shown in US dollars. Most pieces are one of a kind; a listing can sell out between your adding it to a cart and checking out, in which case we cancel and refund that line rather than substitute something.

Orders and payment

An order is accepted when we confirm it, not when it is placed. If we cannot fulfil it we will say so and refund in full.

While no payment provider is connected, checkout runs in demonstration mode: an order record is created and no money moves.

Workshops and events

Places at workshops are limited and confirmed individually. Dates, venues and admission prices in the diary may change; we will tell anyone booked before they do.

Selling here

Makers keep ownership of their work and their photographs, and grant the mercato permission to show both while they trade here. Work must be made by the applicant. Resold, drop-shipped or white-label goods are grounds for removal.

Using this site

  • Do not copy the photographs or listing text for use elsewhere.
  • Do not scrape the catalogue.
  • Do not use the contact or application forms to send marketing.

These terms describe how the mercato intends to operate. They must be reviewed by a lawyer and completed with your registered entity, governing jurisdiction and dispute process before the site trades publicly.
