“Solitude”

One figure, one long stretch of wet sand, and the sun going down behind the skyline. The carved frame — shells and rope worked into the wood — either hangs from its cord or stands on its own, so it can move from a shelf to a wall and back.

Care guidance for this piece comes straight from the artisan — ask us before the first clean and we will pass the question on to her rather than guess.

Because this item is handmade, slight variations may occur, making each piece unique.

Jonna Vanschoonhoven works across more materials than most makers touch in a lifetime. Acrylic on canvas. Knotted cord. Cut glass joined with copper. Tooled leather. Wool felt burned freehand. Goat's milk soap cut into bars and left to cure.
